Metro Building Solutions, Inc. (MBSI) is a Manufacturer’s Rep organization dedicated to providing professional representation to the metro New York and northern New Jersey construction markets by specializing in select products used in the design & construction of various Cavity Wall, Roofing and Waterproofing systems.
The “Building Envelope” is one of the most important yet vulnerable assemblies of a structure and should be designed with the utmost consideration for minimizing the moisture and condensation potential within the wall and roof assemblies. Especially as health risks and litigation due to mold & mildew have become such extreme and costly impediments to the entire construction industry.
MBSI specializes in the following key areas of construction:
Cavity Wall Systems such as steel stud/brick veneer and block & brick construction. No matter which design, keeping the exterior walls warm and dry by using the proper system made up of continuous, moisture resistant insulation and/or gypsum sheathing, along with the correct air/vapor barrier is the key to minimizing the potential of moisture and mold growth within the walls. Dew point analysis are available to assist the architect in achieving this design.

Protected Membrane (IRMA) Roof systems are designed by insulating on top of the waterproofing membrane in order to protect it from thermal extremes, physical damage & UV degradation. Foundations & Slabs need to be properly insulated with products that are moisture resistant, tough and durable. In addition to superior insulation & moisture protection, there are times that drainage properties are also preferred within the same product. Drainage channels are grooved into the insulation board for the benefit of a continuous path for moisture to freely migrate vertically down and away from the structure.
